Page 1 of 3 Hello, Welcome to this weeks plog. In our last post, we discussed the 5 things we stand to gain by practicing project management. Now let's take a look at what exactly defines a project. So you're working on something at work. It has been going on for over a year, but you joined 6mths ago. In discussions, your boss has indicated that its something that tends to repeat itself, with the odd cosmetic changes here and there. Being a responsible steward of the job assigned to you, you've created a great 'project plan'. You've got some great stuff itemized, some key milestones, some due dates. However something is gnawing at you, in particular, no matter who you talk to, you can't seem to pin down an exact completion date because every time you try to, you start from the beginning again. You've visited the archives and see a score of binders of past such work, in fact they're nearly identical in the nature of the work. Nothing has not changed to any considerable extent. You could literally swap out the title on the binder, some names and some dates, and they'd be nearly identical.
